Pretty sure Kevin Pang of the Chicago Tribune has the world’s coolest job, as he just spent six months chronicling burgers in Chicagoland. Here’s a gallery detailing his ’16 pearls of cheeseburger wisdom’.
I’m not a huge beef eater but I do love a good cheeseburger from time to time. My area favorites are Plan B in West Hartford/Glastonbury, The Counter in West Hartford and we can’t forget White Hut in West Springfield with their sweet, sweet sauteed onions. Five Guys is coming to Enfield sometime soon and I hear nothing but delicious things.
Of course, I’d pretty much kill for an In-n-Out Burger outpost on the East Coast.
Your turn: I want to hear about your cheeseburger in paradise.

In-n-Out first, of course. But a close second is Bubba’s with three burgeriffic locations on the Hawaiian island of Kauai: Hanalei, Kapaa and now Poipu. I love the motto: We cheat tourists, drunks and attorneys.
I, too, am a huge fan on In-N-Out Burger. Why, oh, why can’t there be one near here?! One good place for burgers in Connecticut is Prime 16 in New Haven on Temple Street. I highly recommend the Maui burger with grilled pineapple and tropical mayo. The sweet potato fries are killer, too.
Five Guys is great! Discovered it when I moved to NYC & love their fries and choices of burger toppings.
Five Guys is da bomb!
Another good burger (I should edit to add) is Corey’s Catsup and Mustard in Manchester. http://catsupandmustard.com/
Love the White Hut in West Springfield. But the best I’ve had was a metal burger at Kuma’s in Chicago. I had the Neurosis burger (they’re all named after metal bands), but the best list of ingredients comes from the Slayer burger: “Pile of fries topped with a ½ lb. Burger, Chili, Cherry Peppers, Andouille, Onions, Jack Cheese, and Anger.”
Plan B’s been my fave so far since moving here. The burger at Firebox ain’t no slouch either.
While In-N-Out is the best, Five Guys is a solid second…Enjoy it when it comes to Enfield!
